The Australian Institute of Music, established in 1968, is the leading school for today's music industry. Courses include contemporary music, music theatre, dramatic arts, classical music, audio, composition & entertainment industry management. The institute boasts an expanding performing arts library which services students ranging from High School to Post Graduate level in addition to supporting the work of teaching staff.
In 2012 AIM Library's collection stands at around 17,000 items with holdings consisting of over 6,500 monographs, 6,000 music scores, and almost 4,000 CDs & DVDs. The collection includes materials in print as well as digital materials such as eBooks, eJournals, and electronic databases.
There are 3 staff who work at AIM Library amounting to 2 full time equivalents - Julia Mitford, Librarian; Linda Vozzo, Library Technician; and Robert Egan, Library Assistant.
